Mila Kunis and Ashton Kutcher have revealed that they refuse to give their children presents for Christmas.
The couple met in 1998 while filming ‘That ’70s Show’ and got married in 2015. They share two children together, Wyatt, aged 10 and Dimitri, aged 8.
Despite having an estimated joint net worth of $275 million, they have admitted that they don’t want to spoil their children and have even encouraged their kids’ grandparents to do the same.
In an interview with Entertainment Tonight in 2017, the couple said they were worried about raising their children to be “as**oles”;
“So far, our tradition is no presents for the kids.”
“We’re instituting it this year because when the kids are younger than one, it doesn’t really matter.”
“Last year, when we celebrated Christmas, Wyatt was two, and it was too much.”
“We didn’t give her anything – it was the grandparents.”
“The kid no longer appreciates the one gift.”
“They don’t even know what they’re expecting; they’re just expecting stuff.”
“We’ve told our parents, ‘We’re begging you – if you have to give her something, pick one gift.’”
“‘Otherwise, we’d like to take a charitable donation, to the Children’s Hospital or a pet, whatever you want.’ That’s our new tradition.”
They have promised to raise their family in as normal an environment as possible, even claiming they will “end up giving our money away to charity”.
The couple have also refused to set up any kind of trust fund for their kids, wanting them to make their own way in the world.
